As the Summer gets into full swing, we need your help to stop the seasonal problem of rubbish bags being ripped open becoming a major public health hazard. Too many people are putting out their rubbish sacks out before 7am on their collection day which means wildlife like seagulls and foxes have too much time to tear through the flimsy material and disperse rubbish all over the town. With the four month temporary closure of Pebsham landfill site for business users robbing seagulls of a major food source, the problem is likely to get far worse over the rest of the summer.
Please remember that, although we'll always try to clear up any mess caused by wildlife attacks, your rubbish is your responsibility until we collect it from you.
