Place Survey 2008

Communities and Local Government logo Every two years, all local authorities in England are required to carry out a Place Survey.  The purpose of this survey is to find out what issues concern local people and what they think about the services they receive from a range of agencies including the County Council, borough and district councils, the Police, Fire and Rescue Service and Primary Care Trusts.

Working with our partners across East Sussex, we selected an independent market research company to carry out the survey on our behalf.  Between the end of September 2008 and the beginning of December 2008, 15,400 randomly selected households in East Sussex were sent a copy of the survey.

The national results are now available on the Communities and Local Government website.

Update:

The results of the 2009 Place Survey were analysed for Hastings Borough Council by Ipsos MORI Research Director Gary Welch in June 2009.  Gary's original powerpoint presentation is now available to download:
